ROMA - REPUBBLICA ROMANA (1798-1799) MEDAGLIA O PROVA DELLO SCUDO A.VII (1799)- D/Aquila spiegata a s. entro una corona su un fascio posto su di un altare. Dietro bandiera sulla quale è la scritta REPUBBLIC=ROMANA. A destra sotto l’altare lettere T M R/Scritta in 5 righe sormontata da pileo LIBERTA’ = ROMANA = XXVII = PIOVOSO = AN VII Intorno la legenda: GIORNO CHE VALE DI TANTI ANNI IL PIANTO *T=M* - gr.21,67 - mm.43 - Le cronache dell’epoca ci riportano la notizia della distribuzione in occasione della celebrazione di una festa al Foro Romano, di 51 medaglie . Furono donate a 48 figli di patrioti, 24 giovani con lauro e altrettante fanciulle con vesti bianche, estratti a sorte. Altri tre esemplari furono donati ad un fanciullo, un giovane ed un anziano.
